The Chula Vista Community Fun Run is a family‐friendly, 5K course that weaves through the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center (CVEATC) campus. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 8:00 am. Runners, walkers, teams and families will be able to recreate and exercise in a beautiful setting while contributing to a great cause. Participants will meet‐and‐greet Olympians and Olympic hopefuls and participate in an interactive community expo. All will receive a commemorative t‐shirt and a SWAG bag full of goodies. Proceeds from the Community Fun Run go directly to the Friends of Chula Vista Parks & Recreation, a non‐profit, 501(c) 3 organization (Tax ID# 32‐0114415) to provide resources for programs and services offered by the City of Chula Vista Recreation Department, such as a Kids in the Kitchen program for youth, teen empowerment events, expanded afterschool youth diversion activities, and programs for developing active lifestyles for youth and adults.
