This past April Bonita Vista Middle School was recognized among the top schools in the State, joining 18 other San Diego County secondary schools certified as California Distinguished Schools. Only the top 5 percent of California schools receive this distinctive honor, with eligibility based on a variety of factors including Academic Performance Index (API) and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). This is Bonita Vista Middle’s fourth time earning the Distinguished School designation with previous honors being awarded in 1988, 1992 and 1994. Congratulations Bonita Vista Middle students, staff and community stakeholders for your hard work and dedication!
